Queensland doctors call for masks to be reintroduced amid new COVID-19 wave

Masks could soon be reintroduced for certain indoor settings in Queensland as the state battles a new COVID-19 wave.

Hospitalisations have more than tripled from October which has prompted calls for residents to wear masks in public settings.

Doctors say there has not been enough information from the state government about the latest wave.

They are also calling on more than 3 million residents who have not had a booster jab to receive one.

3.4 million adult Queenslanders have not kept up to date with booster shots in the past six months.
