First Covid deaths in China in months as case numbers spike | The World

China has reported its first Covid deaths in six months, as cases numbers rise – with more than 27,000 new infections recorded.

Residents in some of Beijing’s hardest-hit areas have been told to stay home, while Guangzhou has ordered a five-day lockdown of its most populous district.
